He certainly proved his credentials at this summer's World Cup under Louis van Gaal, and has shown fine form at PSV over time. A move to the Premier League, then, could develop him even further in the coming years, but it remains to be seen as to whether the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham splash the cash on him.

Tottenham bid

The report from the Express has suggested that Tottenham have already had a £10 million bid for the player's services rejected, with PSV rating the 20-year-old at around £15m. It appears, though, that Spurs could return with a second bid for the player as Mauricio Pochettino looks to increase his options at White Hart Lane.
It's been suggested that Spurs will make a straight cash swoop for the Dutch ace in an attempt to bring him to north London. Depay would certainly improve the Lilywhites going forward, as they look to mount a challenge for Champions League qualification this term.

Reunited with Van Gaal

Tottenham fans will be hoping that Manchester United don't make a bid of their own, with the player having worked under the Red Devils boss for his national side. It's no secret that Manchester United are on the lookout for new additions, and Depay may well prove an upgrade on the likes of Ashley Young and Nani.
Manchester United fans will certainly be hoping that at least two or three more players arrive before the close of the window, with the club also in need of improvement in the middle of the park and defence.
The Red Devils have so far secured the services of Spanish ace Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, but it's expected to be a busy couple of weeks at Old Trafford.
