CAMERON Jerome has been given permission to speak to Norwich after Stoke agreed a £1.5m sale to the Canaries.

The deal is now dependent on the 28 year-old striker agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

His transfer would end a troubled three-year stay at Stoke which included a season-long loan spell at Crystal Palace in 2013/15.

A fee of £1.5m represents a fair return for a player costing around £4m from Birmingham City three years ago and with only 12 months left on his current contract.

Celtic had been interested in Jerome, too, but the former Cardiff striker is believed to favour England.

His future at Stoke was spelled out by manager Mark Hughes earlier this summer when Jerome was left behind as the rest of the senior squad jetted off to Germany for their annual pre-season trip.
