Egyptian side Al Ittihad of Alexandria have announced that they have
signed Ghanaian international Yahaya Mohamed on an one year deal.
Al Ittihad are building a new team for the next season in the Egyptian League.
"Yahaya put pen to paper for one season. The team head coach Talaat
Yousef asked to sign the player as he saw him last season in the Libyan
league," Al Ittihad published.
The 26-year-old player is the third foreigner player in the Al
Ittihad squad after they signed Felix Katongo of Zambia and Oumed Oukri
of Ethiopia.
" Yahaya is one of the good deals we have done this summer and we
hope he can make the fans proud.
We know that he is good attacker and we
expect a lot from him," Al Ittihad board member Hesham Hassan told
supersport.com.
The Alexandria-based club signed former team coach Talaat Yousef after he ended his contract with Al Ahly of Tripoli.
Mohamed started his career in 2006 with Tema Youth team before he
moved to OGC Nice for the 2007 the 2008 season where he played for Real
Tamale United then Wa All Stars. After that he signed for Asante Kotoko
in 2011.
Yahaya was supposed to join Al Ahly of Cairo last year but he picked up an injury prevented him from travelling to Egypt.
